PRIVACY POLICY

Rouge Media Productions (“Rouge Media”, “we”, “us”) operates rougemedia.net and its client portal, and provides video production, photography, and related creative and web services from Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and protected, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Enquiries and leads — when you use a contact or project-planning form: your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message or brief.
- Client accounts — when you create an account: your name, email address, and a password (stored only as a secure hash, never as plain text).
- Bookings and projects — shoot dates, locations, package selections, and project details you provide when booking or planning work with us.
- Agreements — when you sign a service agreement electronically: the agreement text, your typed legal name, your drawn signature, and a timestamp.
- Payments — payment is processed by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. We keep records of invoices, amounts, and payment status.
- Notifications — if you opt in to push notifications, a delivery subscription token from your browser. You can revoke this at any time in your browser settings.
- Technical logs — standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) used for security and troubleshooting.
We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site. Cookies are used only for signing in to the client portal and keeping your session active.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiries and prepare proposals.
- To schedule, produce, and deliver the work you book with us.
- To process payments, issue invoices and receipts, and maintain business records.
- To send you service emails about your bookings, deliveries, and account — not marketing lists.
- To keep the site and portal secure.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run parts of our infrastructure, and only what each needs to do its job:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Cloudflare — website hosting and content delivery.
- Neon — database hosting.
- Backblaze — storage of project media and delivered files.
- Email delivery providers — sending booking confirmations, receipts, and account emails.
Some of these providers store or process data in the United States. That means your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and be subject to lawful access requests under United States law. We may also disclose information where required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and for as long as the law or our legitimate business records require — for example, signed agreements and invoices are retained as business and tax records. Lead enquiries that do not become projects are periodically deleted.
How we protect it
All traffic to the site is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed. Access to production systems is limited to the small team that operates them.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to its use (subject to legal and contractual limits — for example, records of a signed agreement). To make a request, email hello@rougemedia.net. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site and our services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
